In the summer of 2018, I worked at Rocky Mountain Institute in Basalt, Colorado as a research associate. Using my prior transportation background, I developed a city transportation interactive model to assist with the Pune Solutions Workshop that the India Mobility Team co-hosted with NITI Aayog in October 2018. This model drew from prior work at RMI, data on India’s existing urban transportation environment, and predictions on population growth rate, transportation demand, and the evolution of urban density. This model helped target potential transportation solutions by further providing case studies of alternative transportation examples around the world, through the City Handbook , which I also researched and assisted in writing.
Additional work experience and projects include:
- Working as a research assistant at the Urban Institute: Center for International Governance and Development in Washington, D.C., where I conducted literature reviews on new data analysis methodologies for smart cities and wrote summaries/profiles of major cities in India (January – March 2019).
- Working as a data analyst at Transitland importing community data and conducting analyses on Bay Area transit schedules over time. (June – September 2017).
- Participating in Hong Kong Smart Cities 2017 (Stanford University) – an immersive, collaborative site visit to Hong Kong’s public spaces and proposed urban planning solutions for human-centered design.
